Circle Seven - back from the past, to face the future!
click this for a bigger version
Way back in the seventies I decided to become a comic book artist. I loved superhero's and started creating some. Well off, and on over the next thirty years I would continue to do so. Then in about 1994 I thought hey shared universe type thing, Heinlein did it, why can't I? So I did, I took all my creations, and placed them in the Maxwell Universe.
hey buddy, wanna see this bigger? click me
Then I needed to write, and draw a comic featuring this huge mess. That is how "Circle Seven" was born. I got semi serious about this in 2000, and created about fifty pages of my epic mini series. well it's 2005, and the pages continue to gather dust, in the hopes that I will go back, and finish them...
you know click here for a bit bigger version pooty doo

we will see, I am currently drawing "Sinner One". Once again I am at the Fifty page mark or so, and I have about another two hundred pages to go. shit...

The Punisher - A warning to those who might think about watching the dreadfull movie
You are witnessing a first, me giving a bad movie review. I normally only review movies I like, but after sitting through this godawfull peice of crap I had to speak out. I really just hoped to warn someone like me (a comic book fan who hadn't seen this movie, found the dvd used, and stupidly bought it) not to buy this stinky turd, or even watch it.(yeah yeah I'm the same guy who liked the Stupids.)
The Punisher is fairly well made, it has decent cinematography, and good acting. Thats it. The plot insults your intellegence, and falls flat at every turn. For instance where are the people? the setting for some stupid reason is Tampa Bay Florida. Dumb mistake number one. The punisher comic is almost always set in New York, or some other fictional large city. I have been to Tampa Bay it's crowded with people, and cops. Yet in The (audience) Punisher there is hardly anyone around, as if this movie was supposed to be a post apocalyptic setting. (the movie does steal quite openly from Mad Max they should have stolen more) No cops ever in the entire movie. Explosions, killing, dead bodies, no cops. Hmmm that's really real. At least it is in this odd fantasy world where all the people have died, except for a chick who looks alot like Frank Castles dead wife, and her two goofy friends, The only other people in existence is a few Cuban mafia type dudes, and John Travolta, his wife, and a few various thugs. Wow even the grand finale shot shows the punisher standing on a bridge no traffic, and no people anywhere. He says I'm gonna punish the bad blah blah blah, only he isn't going to be able to find anyone. This movie really blew chunks. I did get one great laugh out loud moment when the camera pulls back, and we see where the punishermandude had blown up cars and they are burning in the shape of his trademark skull. ha ha ha ha ha ha ha h aaa ha aha ha ah ah ah ah ahahhaaa oh it hurts. Where the hell is the MST3000 guys when you need them?

oddest of all every review at amazon goes on and on about what a great movie this is? can you say I.Q. test, no I didn't think so.

Quick note The comic book The Punisher has had many ups, and downs, mostly good moments. My particular favorite was some of the very earliest stuff. The old black and white Marvel Magazines, and Jim Lees run, on the Punisher War Journal. Any comic book version is better than the offensive turd bucket dvd that genius director Jonathan Henschelpper slapped us in the face with.
p.s. the only comic book movie worse than this one would be The Bulk, uh I mean The Hulk.

Sinner One - Is it a comic, is it a movie? is it a comic book movie? nope it's just a lotta little lines on paper
Sinner one is the story of what happens when the devil takes his annual vacation, and goes on a road trip from Myrtle Beach South Carolina, to Sin City itself Las Vegas.
Of course God screws with him the whole way there. It's funny, It's weird, It's coming soon to a theater near you. Or you can go to your local comic shop, you know the one with the balding overweight guy behind the counter reading "Velda Girl Detective" and buy some cool comics while you wait for me to finish "Sinner One" . later budinskys

Who is Maxwell? I bet he's just some jerk, or something
Hi, my name is John Clifton Gardiner, and I write, and draw comic books as Maxwell.
Here is an unfinished painting that I started of Spidey, and Mary Jane.
I did a few pro jobs way back for Rock and Roll Comics. I did a backup story in the Def Lepard issue, and did the whole story for the Elton John issue. I got the job because I am fairly good at likeness drawings, and can draw on a deadline. For the last ten years I have worked on "Circle Seven" a superhero series featuring well over fourty characters that I have Created. It's cool, and a little different. It has a sense of humor, and at the core is a buddy story about Crescendo, and his boss Gibbons.
I was really dedicated to creating this series, and it was going to be released as a series of Graphic novels. Except that while slowly working on it inbetween raising three kids, and work I wrote the screenplay for the movie "Sinner One".

It is in the hands of actor Muse Watson, and is being shopped in Hollywood. What will happen who knows. It could get made, or it could sit in development hell for the next twenty years, so once again in the meantime I decided that the only real way that anyone would see the script the way that I wrote it, would be to draw it as a comic book. And of course it is a great way to help sell the damn thing. So that is what I am doing now. I have been drawing since last October. The finished comic will be about 250 pages or so. I am going to print it in black, and white with a color cover as a mini series in standard comic book format. This will come out Summer 2006. Sucks don't it. Anyway as I go along, and do stuff I will post crudola here for you to look at and be amazed,
well if not amazed at least dazzled, or stunned, or shocked, or stupified, well you get the idea.... Oh yeah I have been drawing since 1976 so I have huge vault of unused crap, and cool drawings. I even have a collection of original art from various other artists pro, and unknown. So stay tuned and if you're toenails grow long enough they can curl upwards, and you can attach bells to them. Neat huh!
